The Holiday of My People

Halloween is my favorite holiday. And even though I have once again failed to make the giant snake to wrap around the tree in our front yard that I keep talking about, I did succeed in making Bun Bun's costume. Mr. Bunny has wanted her to be a pumpkin since long before she was even a gleam in our RE's eye. So a pumpkin she is, and a mighty sweet one, if I do say so myself.

Mr. Bunny says the costume has surpassed his wildest dreams.

We also toured our first daycare today, in preparation for January. I am feeling extra thankful to have this time with my little pumpkin today. And in light of Jennifer's shitty news, and thinking of Misfit's scan tomorrow, and thinking of all of you, I'm feeling so insanely EXTRA grateful that Bun Bun is here with me. So grateful that I need to gorge myself on tiny candy bars and cry.

    You are so freakin crafty! I'm jealous. I love haloween too but I think it's because of the chance to dress up like a skank, eat candy and get drunk ( not doing that this year).

    You MADE that? So awesome. I am such a slacker, 2nd year running of clearance old navy costumes...whatever I could get in his size! I'll have to get more creative next year so the kid learns to stretch his imagination for Halloween...I've never once bought a ready made costume for myself but love cobbling something together...usually more "conceptual" than crafty.

    No yorres amiga. It destroys the chocolate. I absolutely adore your mad skills with the sewing and this is quite possibly the most precious costume I've seen. Well done! That said, mmmm pie. Sorry, bun bun.

    I love Halloween! And that pumpkin? Everything about her is above and beyond! And to think, you made the whole thing - costume and wearer. Gifted, indeed!

    I hope you are happy with your day care. It's tough to find a place to store such precious cargo. I know bun bun will be above and beyond the best-dressed kid in the joint!

    1. it is a good thing you live at a safe distance, because if i were nearer-by, that baby would be in serious danger of being eaten. maybe without even being milled first.

    2. holy shit, am i impressed with that pumpkin suit.

    3. okay, one long-haired lady to another: now that i've seen it i can say that you have the nice kind of long hair (come on, you know the other kind). do not trade it for a mom-hair helmet, is my thinking.
